Am I a greenie?

No, but I am a cheapskate.

This Christmas marks the third year that I made my own Christmas tree out of boughs from the two douglas firs that we planted in our back yard. And, one of those was even our second live Christmas tree--the first, a blue spruce, didn't survive the transplant.

Here's how I do it:

I Simply wait until just after Thanksgiving to prune the pine trees. I take the boughs of various sizes into the house and lash them together with jute twine. Then, I put it into a Christmas tree stand, put water in, and voila!! It costs me nothing and takes less time than going out to buy a tree. Plus, I'm the envy of greenie's everywhere, damn them!!!
